MGT conducted an equity audit of the Center for Creative Leadership’s modules and facilitator tools to align with their dedication to an equitable, diverse, and inclusive culture.
The Center for Creative Leadership (CCL) is a global, nonprofit providing leadership development and is considered a pioneer in global leadership research. The CCL provides leadership development training in 160 countries and has over 1 million alumni. In 2021, the CCL issued a statement declaring its dedication to advancing an equitable, diverse, and inclusive (EDI) culture within the organization.
To support CCL’s commitment to equity, they engaged MGT’s DEI team to help improve executive leadership training modules and ensure there was adequate diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) representation. Our team conducted an equity audit of six training modules – complete with facilitator guides, participant notes, presentation materials, and recommendations for new language and imagery. We also created a multifaceted DEI toolkit consisting of articles, videos, and books focused on age and ageism, race and ethnicity, ability, cultural competency, and more. These toolkits were provided to course facilitators to enhance the design and facilitation of all training sessions.
After our audit was complete, the revised CCL training materials are culturally competent, representative of historically underrepresented communities, and empower facilitators and designers to incorporate heightened inclusivity into their training.
CCL staff now have the training and tools to facilitate culturally competent discussions around EDI without eclipsing learning objectives. Programs now challenge participants to connect lived experiences to potentially new concepts, and we expect these changes will amplify the profound impact CCL has on thousands of leaders (and their teams) across the world. MGT continues to support CCL in its ongoing efforts to create equitable, diverse, and inclusive programs for professionals across the globe.
