The University of Hawaii – Classification & Compensation Study

CASE STUDIES

The University of Hawaii System (UH) desired its compensation policy for executive and managerial positions to be reviewed for fairness and competitiveness among peer systems. MGT reviewed UH policies and procedures, conducted a compensation best practices review and a review of current survey tools utilized to evaluate competitive compensation. Further, the value of UH benefits was compared to selected peers to assess competitiveness. MGT provided recommendations for methods and practices to fairly compensate executive and managerial personnel in public sector higher education. Recommendations also included an assessment of costs to expand benefits not currently offered.
