Washington State University – Strategic Plan

CASE STUDIES

MGT, with assistance from NBBJ, was selected by Washington State University to assist in the development of a strategic plan for the University Center of North Puget Sound. Responsibility for operation of the University Center was transferred to WSU effective in 2013 by action of the Washington Legislature.

Our team analyzed regional census data, college participation rates, and transfer program enrollment data for local institutions to estimate student demand. The consulting team conducted interviews and focus groups with local business, education, and community leaders. Additionally, MGT evaluated the financial requirements and office/classroom space needs for the Expanded University Center.

The planning effort included delineation of mission and vision, assessment of educational needs in the region, identification of university partners to provide programming, assessment of educational sites and facilities, and development of a multi-year budget plan.
