Lamont brings more than 18 years of experience working in a variety of education environments. He has served in various roles including teacher, principal, adjunct professor, and charter school CEO. His prior roles include Executive Director of the Office of Autonomous Schools for Aurora Public Schools in Colorado and CEO at Vision Academy Charter Schools.

He understands how to develop high-functioning teams to work collaboratively in design and implementing strategic systems that enhance academic and organizational performance. He is a nationally recognized, award-winning education leader focused on performance, leadership, and achieving results that improve school systems and the advancement of marginalized peoples and communities.

A recognized leader in education, Lamont has won numerous awards for his leadership, including the prestigious Ryan Award, presented by the Accelerate Institute for demonstrating exceptional leadership in closing the achievement gap in urban K-12 schools. He received his doctoral degree in education administration and policy from the University of Delaware, master’s degree in business administration from the University of Colorado, master’s degree in education from the University of Delaware, and bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Delaware.
