MGT’s Education Transformation Practice welcomes Dr. Lamont Browne

Dr. Lamont W. Browne has joined MGT Group’s Education Transformation practice as Vice President. Browne will support the group in providing best practices and solutions development in education transformation and education leadership. He will also help direct and manage MGT’s growing portfolio of education transformation projects throughout the country.

Browne brings more than 17 years of experience working in a variety of education environments. He has served in various roles including teacher, principal, adjunct professor, and charter school CEO. His most recent role was Executive Director of the Office of Autonomous Schools for Aurora Public Schools in Colorado. In this capacity he managed the district’s school turnaround framework while leading the Charter School Office and the district’s inaugural Innovation Zone.

Browne understands how to develop high-functioning teams to work collaboratively in design and implementing strategic systems that enhance academic and organizational performance. He is a nationally recognized, award-winning education leader focused on performance, leadership, and achieving results that improve school systems and the advancement of marginalized peoples and communities.

A recognized leader in education, Browne has won numerous awards for his leadership, including the prestigious Ryan Award, presented by the Accelerate Institute for demonstrating exceptional leadership in closing the achievement gap in urban K-12 schools. Browne received his doctoral degree in education administration and policy from the University of Delaware, master’s degree in business administration from the University of Colorado, master’s degree in education from the University of Delaware, and bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Delaware.
