Rochester Community & Technical College – Strategic Plan

CASE STUDIES

OBJECTIVE
Rochester Community and Technical College’s (RCTC) goal was to develop a forward thinking, ambitious agenda to guide the Institution through the next five years as they work to provide accessible, affordable, high-quality learning opportunities, which meet students’ lifelong needs and contribute to the cultural, social, and economic development of the region.

METHODOLOGY
MGT facilitated planning activities and work sessions of the RCTC Strategic Planning Task Force. Additionally, MGT conducted a Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats (SWOT) analysis with administrators, faculty, staff, and students to determine areas of attention for plan consideration. The MGT team further assisted the Task Force in identifying critical issues to be addressed in the plan, and guided the discussions on plan priorities, goals, objectives, and parameters to measure annual progress.

OUTCOME
The RCTC 2015-2020 Strategic Plan is a roadmap for guiding the future. The strategic plan prioritizes the work of the Institution for the next five years by challenging RCTC to optimize its resources and utilize strategic approaches to maximize efficiency, effectiveness, collaboration, and responsiveness in meeting the changing needs of students and remaining a pillar in its community. It is aggressive and focuses on strategic priorities, which are critical in maintaining a student-centered and student-focused institution.
